GPS & Telematics Installation Technician – Malta

Location: Malta, Europe (Candidate should be willing to relocate) Employment Type: Full-Time Company: HandsOn Systems Ltd Work Permit: Malta Single Permit support available for selected candidates (All the fees should be covered by the candidate) About Us HandsOn Systems Ltd is a Malta-based technology company specialising in GPS tracking, fleet management, telematics, IoT and smart technology solutions. We are currently looking for experienced GPS & Telematics Installation Technicians to join our Technical Department in Malta. This is not a mechanical automotive position. We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience in vehicle electrical systems, GPS tracker installation, telematics devices, vehicle cameras, sensors and automotive electronic equipment. Selected candidates who require authorisation to work in Malta may be supported by HandsOn Systems with their Malta Single Permit (Work Permit) application, subject to the applicable requirements and approval by the Maltese authorities. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: Installing and servicing GPS tracking and telematics devices in cars, vans, trucks, commercial vehicles and other mobile assets. Identifying suitable vehicle wiring points for power, ignition, ground and other required connections. Installing and connecting GPS trackers, vehicle cameras, sensors and other telematics equipment. Carrying out professional vehicle wiring, cable routing, connections and equipment mounting. Testing GPS devices after installation and confirming correct communication with the tracking platform. Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults related to GPS devices, wiring, power supply, connectivity and vehicle electronics. Installing and configuring different types of fleet management and IoT equipment. Removing, replacing, upgrading and maintaining existing tracking equipment. Using multimeters and other diagnostic tools during installations and troubleshooting. Ensuring installations are completed safely, neatly and without damage to the vehicle. Providing technical feedback and reporting installation issues to the Technical Supervisor. Attending technical training on new GPS, telematics and IoT products when required. Travelling to customer locations across Malta to carry out installations and maintenance. Working flexible hours when required depending on operational needs.
